Martini Boulevard

Faqs

What is the line up of the band ?

The seven piece party band comprises two vocalists, one female, one male, keyboards, guitar, bass guitar, drums and saxophone.
The six piece is as before, but excluding either one vocalist or saxophone.
The five piece is one vocalist, keyboards, guitar, bass guitar and drums.
The four piece playing electro grooves is one vocalist, keyboards, bass guitar and drums, but can also be configured differently if more appropriate.
The jazz trio, quartet and quintet is configured to suit the repertoire being played. The party band also covers the jazz repertoire.
We can also provide an extra brass section or more vocalists to make up an 8 to 11 piece band if this is what required.

How do we book you ?
Please email us with the date and type of your function and whether you are enquiring about the five, six or seven piece party band, the four or five piece electro group or the jazz trio, quartet, or quintet. We will then confirm availability and any details we need about your event to give you a quote. You may then provisionally book us and we'll run through your requirements in detail before confirming the booking with you. We'll then send you our contract, which we ask you to sign and return with your deposit to finalise the booking.

Where do you perform ?
Martini Boulevard is based in London and available to travel and perform in all locations, nationally and internationally. Prices depend on the size of the band, desired performance time and duration of the event, and distance travelled, and include the supply of the band, full PA, lighting and sound engineering crew (unless not required), travel, and, where necessary, accommodation. For international work, quotes will be based on the hire of the band only, exclusive of technical provision, accommodation or flights.

Do you have your own equipment ?
Yes, we have a state of the art sound system and lighting rig. This is inclusive in the band hire. We also have equipment which enables us to play in a smaller space at lower volume if necessary and to play in a wide range of venues. For themed events or special requirements we can either work with the event designers or hire special equipment ourselves.

How long do you play for ?
Normally 3 x 40 minute sets, we can also do 2 x 60 minutes and are generally flexible depending on your event.

Do you provide music to play when you are not performing?
Yes, we have a selection of music to play when the band is not. We can also play your cds or Ipod if you prefer.

Do you play requests ?
Yes, we plan the set list with you from our existing repertoire which is extensive and to which we are always adding new songs.
We can also perform three of your requests.

How far in advance do I need to book ?
The earlier the better, however it's always worth enquiring even at the last minute.

What needs to be provided for the band ?
The band needs a clean secure lockable room to change, get ready and store instruments in. It is also customary to provide the band with a meal and refreshments.
Parking for the band is essential and ideally needs to be as close to the venue as possible. We need to know about any access difficulties such as stairs, narrow corridors, uneven ground etc.

What size performance area do you need ?
A raised platform or clearly defined stage area is ideal, however the important thing is that we have enough space to perform in. The minimum amount of space we require is approximately 4m (depth) x 5m (width) for the 7-piece band. The 4 piece band playing elctro - ambient, the jazz trio or quartet can occupy a smaller space, but still generally require at least 3m by 3m.

What time do you arrive at the event ?
We generally arrive a few hours earlier than our playing time to set up our equipment and carry out a full sound check.

Can you play at a reasonable volume ?
Yes we can play at different volumes depending on the venue and your type of function.

Can I see you play ?
We generally perform at private functions so it is only by special arrangement with our clients that this is possible. Alternatively you could see us playing at promotional Wedding exhibitions.
